The Jessica V. Ordaz Education Foundation (JOEF) was established with a heartfelt mission: to provide the youth and adults of the Antelope Valley with the opportunity to pursue education in real estate and create strong financial futures for themselves and their families.

Thanks to the support of Alex’s Heating & Cooling, JOEF is able to offer scholarships, resources, and partnerships that directly empower the community. This collaboration ensures that every award given is rooted in a commitment to both service and opportunity.
Scholarship Fund Details

Award Ceiling: $2,700 (up to six scholarships awarded annually)

Scholarship Payments: Made directly to Smart Move Real Estate Academy on behalf of the student after proof of enrollment

To build a collaborative network of diverse stakeholders and improve the quality of adult education in the Antelope Valley—equipping individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to thrive in real estate.

To empower youth and adults with educational opportunities in the field of real estate, ensuring they have access to need-based resources that open the door to long-term financial stability.
Our Purpose
The JOEF Scholarship Fund supports high school seniors and adults who wish to pursue a career in real estate. Scholarship recipients are awarded funds that go directly toward enrollment in Smart Move Real Estate Academy, an accredited educational institution.
Eligibility
For High School Seniors

Must attend one of the designated Antelope Valley high schools (including alternative schools listed in our guidelines)

Be a graduating senior with at least a 2.0 GPA

Demonstrate a passion for starting a career in real estate
​

Complete 20 hours of community service
​

Not be related to JOEF board, staff, or the Jessica V. Ordaz family
​

Attend a scholarship orientation before the start of school
For Adults
-
Must reside in the Antelope Valley
​

Demonstrate a passion for starting a career in real estate
​

Provide proof of financial hardship (prior year tax return)
​
-
Complete 40 hours of community service
​

Not be related to JOEF board, staff, or the Jessica V. Ordaz family
​

Attend a scholarship orientation before the start of classes
Application Requirements

Letter of application (1 page max)

Two letters of recommendation

Official transcripts

Personal essay (1–2 pages, typed, double-spaced)

Proof of community service & supporting documentation (such as income tax return if applicable)

Application Deadline: Two weeks before the start of session (no exceptions).
